Freelander tail light wiring
After recently moving from Georgia back to Delaware, I took my Freelander to the State DMV to be titled and licensed. She flunked the inspection because one light function in the many variations in the tail lights did not work on the driver's side. While I can't reproduce this situation, the Inspector is always right, regardless.... I've not been able to find a local service place willing to mess with it and there is a waiting list of more than 3 months at the closest Coachmen service place. I called Coachmen and they sent me replacement lights for both sides, telling me I can do the replacement myself. Hey, I'm a Jill-of-all-trades; I CAN do it. But I need a little coaching. The wiring on the old and new lights is not the same. The old lights have 2 black, 2 red, and 3 white wires. The new lights have 2 black, 2 red, 1 white, and 1 purple wires. I get the black to black, red to red part, but how do I arrange the 3 whites to 1 white and 1 purple? I've emailed Coachmen again, but I'm getting impatient and I'm already past the State's time limit on getting this thing licensed. Can anyone help?
