It is a known issue and Furrion has supposedly addressed it. I'm hoping my, just ordered, camper will have the fix but if not, looks like the best workaround would be to close the vents too near the unit, to allow the warmer air to the return and thermister. |

I did try sticking the sensor through the foam filter and out of the box. Made it a little (very little) better but didn’t fix it. I know for some people they said they did it and it worked. Unfortunately, the only real solution is that sensor needs to be moved away from that box however it’s done. You shouldn’t have to be closing vents either to remedy the problem. Hopefully you’re new unit has the new thermostat. Good luck!

Just purchased an Alta 2400kth having the same issues with the two Furrion units in it. Did you ever hear anything else from Lippert about this issue? I have a case number and have been emailing a tech who is supposedly trying to come up with a solution.

It’s Furrion not Lippert you should contact. I did not get any other feedback from Furrion other than they told me what their “fix” was which was to move the short Room Temp sensor around in the air box which as I mentioned didn’t work. And that if I used the after market extension kit it would void my warranty. Ridiculous. But it’s been working perfect ever since I installed that kit. And was super easy.

I just got a relocation kit for the temp sensor. Going to install it this week. With regards to the warranty, can't you just remove the relocation kit and return the unit to the stock configuration if you need any warranty work on the air conditioner? The relocation kit I got is easily removable.

Yes, that was my thought also. It's just plug and play so you can always remove it, put the sensor back in it's original state and put another new zip tie on the wires and it will be back to factory set up. It was super easy to install and man, it completely solved my problem! Good luck!

Yes, here's a pic... I ran it across the ceiling from the vent (going to put a small piece of plastic raceway to cover the wire) and then drilled a small hole in the bottom of the cabinet where the sensor pokes out. Didn't use the metal screen mount that came with it.
