Furrion Fireplace Trouble Shooting

Trying to trouble shoot a Furrion fireplace. To be clear the fireplace DOES work. However,
The fireplace will only run if I set the thermostat at 75* or higher. Under that and it will shut the heat and blow off as though it is at temperature. I know the camper isnt close to 70* when it shuts down. It used to run just fine at any temperature setting.

Has anyone run into something similar, we’re you able to fix it?

From your description I would say its a problem with the stat not the fireplace.

Sorry, I was t clear. This runs on its own, internal thermostat. Not hooked to camper thermostat

I think I would pull the stat out of the fireplace and see about a replacement surely there are parts available.

You may be able to adjust the trim on the thermostat once you pull it out.

We have the same issue. It can be 60 degrees in the camper and we have to put the fireplace on 85 to get it up to 70. I suspect it is because the fireplace is almost on the floor

That doesn't make sense. Hot air rises; cold air sinks. If anything, the fireplace would heat the room too hot.

I don't have one of these, but here's a question. Is the case of the fireplace metal? Is the thermostat mounted on the metal case? If so, could heat be conducted through the metal so that the thermostat heats up before the rest of the room does? This would be pretty bad engineering, but then Furrion does not have a good reputation for engineering, either. Forest River has severed relations with Furrion over engineering problems.

If the thermostat really is mounted on/near the metal case, please try this experiment and let us know how it comes out:
Remove the thermostat and extend the wires a few feet. Attach it to a wall a few feet a way. Let us know how it works.

Larry is correct, we had the same issue with the fireplace in our MiniLite 2205S. The fireplace thermostat is located too close to the fireplace so once it reaches the stepping it takes a long time before the temperature close to the fireplace goes below the set point. Relocate the thermostat probe as far away from the fireplace as possible and your fireplace will work properly.

I must be missing something, the Furrion fireplace in our 2021 Vibe 26RK only displays a "Hi or Lo" setting. There isn't a temperature setting. It doesn't matter if I'm using the remote or console control. Then again, I've only turned it on twice.

Yeah, the Hi Lo setting is the fan speed. There should be a "temp setting" button on both the remote AND the fireplace itself. I'm not in my camper right now but I think it's 65-70-75-80-85-65-70-75-80...etc I think it's a small thermometer button on the remote.

Maybe this doesn't apply but.... our fireplace (not Furion brand) sounds similar. Ours has a tiny wire with a little vinyl bulb on the end. This is the thermister (temp sensor) for the control board. Mine got moved so it was not sticking out. Possibly by a dust cloth. It would shut down too soon until I discovered it and re-positioned it back outside the grill.
Also FWIW I looked online and I can get a new control board for mine but it's pricey at nearly $100.
Rant mode on- my temp range is 65 up to 90 in 5 degree increments. Really?? Who wants a temp set at 90? But we'd love to be able to set it at say 45 or 50 to keep pipes from freezing. Nope. It's gotta be 65 or higher.

LOL, Not sure about the model, But we only had ours 30 days when Hurricane Zeta dropped a tree limb through the roof. We never got to use it and it spent the entire winter in the service department. I've turned it on once when we picked it up, and once when I unwrapped the remote. The three times we have been camping we have been running both A/C units. I'll have to plan on doing some reading next month.

So I got to check mine at our 2nd trip just last night in 54 degree outside temp. I set my Furrion fireplace at 75 before bed and woke up at 2:00 a.m. it was 64 inside. She gets cold so I turned it to 80...2 hours later I woke it was 75. I'd say yes, the thermometer isn't real accurate...I'll just remember that and adjust myself to it instead of the other way around.
