Generator plus ac

I have a 2017 Nitro 305 TH I'm at country jam where it is 90+degrees out so I have my 5500watt Onan generator running and both ac units running. I'm having a hard time keep both units going. It worked great this morning but now with the heat of the day I can hear something trip and than a beeping noise comes on. I loose electricity like a blown breaker. I shut one ac unit off and it all works just fine. It doesn't matter which unit it is. Shouldn't I be able to run both ac units while on my generator?

5500 Watts is 45 amps.

Each air conditioner pulls about 15 amps running (30 amps); BUT on compressor startup, each can pull up to 25 amps (50 amps)(or more depending on several factors like state of charge and air temperature).

Normally, both compressors wont be starting at the same time (which would definitely trip the breakers. However, if there is any significant ac draw, like water heater on AC, low battery charge state, high DC usage, TV on, etc) you can easily overtax that generator which is much less "over-amp" tolerant than a circuit breaker.

Make sure your water heater and fridge are on propane.
