Georgetown GT5 Fresh Water Tank

I cannot trust my electronic water tank level gauge that never seems to go over 2/3 full. When filling the fresh water tank, how do I know when it’s full? I cannot see the tank and I don’t want to overfill it’s. Is there an overfill line somewhere where I cannot do any damage by completely filling? Any guidance is much appreciated.

Look for a stream of water out the bottom of the rig. The vent for the tank is also the full indicator. If you look under the rig you will see an open tube sticking out and when it spits water the tank is full.

I add water until the overflow behind the passenger side duals starts dripping water.

I also use a water flow meter on the city water line to add a known amount of water if needed.

When I over fil mine it runs out and there is a screen over the overflow tube. But mine for some reason will siphon half or more out of the tank if if I overfill it. I don’t know how to get the drain from spewing water even 10 minutes or more after I shut off filling hose. Any suggestions?

As several simple minded folks have suggested, just drill an 1/8" hole in the overflow line at its highest point where it comes out of the tank. Done.

I have a GT5 and had the same issue with the fresh water tank siphoning after water started running out the overflow.

Problem solved . . . eliminate the siphon action.

I removed the tape-screen from the bottom of the overflow (save it for later use).

I then inserted a lenght of 1/4" vinyl tubine (Home Depot) into the overflow, far enough that it reached the TOP of the first bend in the overflow line (or maybe just a couple of inches further), leaving about 1" of tubing extending below the bottom of the overflow line. I use the same tape-screen to tape the 1/4" vinly tubing in place and keeping the rest of the overflow tube screened as well. Water MUST be allowed to run out both the OEM overflow tube and the 1/4" tube. The 1/4" vinyl tubing will break the siphon.

How did I know the tubing was at the TOP of the first bend? I removed the cover inside the basement bin that allowed me to see the overflow tube, and the 1/4" tube moving inside it. I could also tell by resistance when pushing the 1/4" tubing into the overflow tube that I had reached the TOP of the first bend.

When filling the fresh water tank, I still have some water run out indicating the tank is more than full, but it runs out only for a minute or less, leaving me with a completely full tank.
