Graphite in the spares kit
On board, in the basement of the 5th wheel I have an old tackle box I cleaned up and use for a spare parts kit. Fuses, electrical tape, water hose washers, sort of like a mini on board hardware store.
Having been locked out of the trailer in the last month (Forest River provided a replacement lockset at no charge - under warranty) and the locksmith who got us back in said there was no lubication in the lock at all, possibly the cause of the stuck tumbler in the first place.
So when I replaced the lockset (10 minute job) I went around to all the locks and added a squirt of graphite. Comes in a tiny tube that would be easy to loose, so I keep in the hardware store/tackle box.
Recommend everyone else do the same. Keeping your locks lubed might keep you from getting locked out.
