Heat Strips on 120V shore power?

Can I run the heat strips (not heat pump) in my A/C's on the 120V shore power that's provided where I store the motorhome? Or do they only work on 30/50 amp hookups or generator running? Figured I ask before trying and blow / trip a fuse. Thanks.

yes and no...

It will work if your just plugged into a 15amp 120v plug, but youll be pretty limited for running anything else at all. a typical 1500w heating element draws roughly 12.5amps, doesnt leave much headroom to run a converter/charger or anything else!
