How can I repair the underbelly

I noticed not long ago some damage to the underbelly of my Microlite 21 FBRS TT. It is either from a flat that I had or a critter that tried to get into the trailer from the underside. Thankfully it does not go all the way inside. But I now need to fill up the cavity circled in red. It is about 5 inches by two inches and 1.5 inches deep. Any suggestions how to go about doing this and preventing further damage?

i'm assuming that is coroplast. go get a political yard sign made from coroplast. cut it down to a workable size to cover what you want. get something like some furring strips and position them on top of the existing coroplast to frame the hole. make sure the patch you cut fro the political sign extends past where you position the furring strips. screw up through the patch and into the furring strips. seal around the edge of the patch with something like gorilla tape.

I have had good success with wide aluminum tape used in HVAC ductwork.

It will give it some structure and will last longer than most Duct Tape (though Gorilla brand is pretty awesome).

One of those coroplast signs (lots of those growing along the roadsides these days) and Flex Seal tape. I used the Flex Seal tape to repair some cuts I had to make in my underbelly to find and repair a leak. It's been a year and a half and about 12,000 miles and I can't even pull the tape off.

Underbelly Repair

Thank you! Would you screw the coroplast material directly into the existing plywood or would you frame the hole with furring strips and screw the coroplast material into the furring strips?

If the existing plywood is solid I would just screw it to that using large washers. Then I would use the Flex Seal tape around all the edges.

if you do not seal the wood it will rot out quickly. if you screw that coroplastic directly to the wood, it will not be water proof and retain moisture where you do not want it. imo

I have had worse 'blowouts' than what you have and the RV repair shop covered the whole area with sheet metal and sealed it. (2,000.00 damage)

Thank you. If I cover everything with Flex Seal tape, wouldn't that keep water out?
