I am an idiot. Guess I hit a tree limb or something and it tapped my awning bracket. See that it is slightly off track. It closes fine, but would like to figure out how to adjust it so it is back on track.

Appreciate any help!

crooked awning arm

are both arms off center? Usually when both arms is off center, the awning will be rolled up crooked on awning tube.

My rear awning does the same thing. On mine it is the rear most bracket. Every once in a while it will shift to the front bracket, but mostly it's the rear. It's been doing this since the 5th or 6th time of running the awning out. This TT has not been towed nor moved since delivery of August 2013. The awning material looks to roll up fine.

I am interested in a fix too.

On yours, I would make sure the material is centered on the roller. On the OP's I would check that the material hasn't moved in the attaching groove on the trailer.

I stand corrected. The awning is not rolling up straight. The bracket on the left is also slightly off.

So is the fact the awning isn't rolling up straight is what's pulling the arms out of line? If so how would I get the awning to roll straight? Again thanks for any help!

Deploy it and measure the distance from the ends. They should be within 1/4" of each other. If not, you will have to pull the material to slide it in the two grooves in the tube. NOT AN EASY JOB!

Mine did the exact same thing right after I re-attached the plastic cover which protects the motor wiring that runs down the bracket attached to the trailer.

I attached to cover with silicone adhesive where it was off center and didn't allow the arm to seat all the way into the bracket. It looked exactly like your picture.

Hope this helps.

Don't understand what the wire cover has to do with the arms seating. Please explain.

That plastic cover that runs down the bracket (I don't know what else to call it) which protects the awning motor wiring where it comes out of the trailer.

Mine fell out in the Arizona heat so I re-attached it in the bracket with a silicone adhesive but in my haste it slipped over to one side of the bracket.

Because of that the plastic cover wouldn't allow the awning arm to seat all the way into the bracket so it stuck out a bit exactly like his picture.

Does that make sense? Sorry if it doesn't as sometimes my aptitude to explain is very weak.

That I understand, but the OP hit something and moved his probably in the groove attached to the trailer.

So I should somehow try to pull the fabric toward the bracket in the picture that is offset?

I did the same as you about a month ago except much worse. Both of my arms were bent. I have a ladder on the rear of my rig and I used it to access the rear arm and pulled it back until it was over the bracket that mounts to the trailer, pushed the front one back the same way. Went back about a week later and operated the awning and everything had completely realigned. A friend told me the arms are probably spring steel and they went back to their normal position. Good luck

If you was going forward when you hit the branch try hitting it when your backing up.

I'll try that! Actually I did pull on the fabric and it worked. It's still not perfect but nothing with a trailer is.
