Sorry about your issue. ...

Goes to show you these are stabilizers are NOT jacks , everybody should learn from this.

You'll most likely have to buy a whole new one.

Either replace or bring bent piece to a welding shop to get straighten and reinforced by welding side plates. See dealer for replacement cost.

I think fonzie has it. If you go to a dealer, you're likely looking at a complete replacement. If you go to a local welder, you can probably repair it.

Mind if we ask how this happened?

I did it while unhooking the trailer after leveling ... I didn't even think about raising the rear jacks during the unhooking process.

all my bad!

Take the one leg off, cut it in two at the bend, straighten the sides and have it re-welded together. 30 minute repair after removing.

After seeing these, I do think I will remove mine while they're still straight and reinforce them. Not that hard to do plus it will put more wt on the rear and take some off the pin.

I also bent a couple of pieces on my stabilizers also first time using my BRAND NEW CAMPER :-( (similar story)It was the pieces that 45 to the actuall stabilizer so I was able to take them of and put a torch to it and re bend it back into shape and paint it black again. When this happened I immedietly went to the LCI website and put the model number in and it was close to 500 bucks for the hole unit although some were as cheap as 350.

Typical screw up. Owned our new camper about 6 months and on our way home from our very first "Snowbird" to Florida.

Bad weather was coming so we decided to "over fly" our planned stop before home and go straight home. That meant leaving RIGHT AT when quiet hours ended at the campground. So the night before we did everything we could to be "ready to go".

I backed the truck under the king pin and realized that if I lifted the pin box just 2 or 3 inches I could actually hook up so we could just start up and leave at the "second hand."

Well, I forgot the stabs were out and JUST as I got it high enough; CRASH.

Bummer...

Old coot, sounds like a good idea but what about unintended consequences? I mean if you beef up the stabilizer to be stronger, where is the next weak point? I don't know but it might be a good thing that they bend? If they don't fail, what is next in line, something on the chassis? I just throw this as I don't have these particular stabilizers and I know from your posts you are very capable and can do this in your sleep. Just a thought....

x2

Then you'd bust the screw arm and have to replace it anyway, or pretzel something else.

Might be something "less fixable."

Understand the consequences and will look it over today, just don't want to have them collapsing with just a minor overload. One strap support was bent when I took the trailer from the dealer and didn't notice it until we were in FL this winter. Took those off and replaced with pipe when we got home. As everyone knows, these jacks are pretty flimsy from the 'get go', I may have to reinforce some other items accordingly. Not too worried about the screw as the motor is pretty week and stalls fairly easily. Will not reinforce the pivot points, so they can still be the weak links.

Well I bough my jack and some wood ... going to see if I can bend it back.

my dealer came back with $500.00 for the jacks and $100.00 to install.

once I get it straight ... a friend will weld it.

I will let everyone know.

X100
Use them for what they were intended, and nothing has to be beefed up.
make them too strong, and the user will try to lift the camper up with them, and they will tear right out of the main camper frame. The are only tack welded on.

Google BAL jacks and see what you get.
I just did. The type you have come in pairs for around $85.
Donno if you can get just one cheaper or not.
Try a local dealer for a single one.
They are a simple bolt on replacement so you can do this or a
friendly neighbor with a socket wrench can do it and save labor cost
as well as a trip to the dealer.

Good Luck!

This is a great point.
Where the unit bolts on to the frame, the bracket is pretty thin.

I looked around (I had previously found the weight limits on the stabilizer and the front landing gear jacks) but I can't find it now. I know! (My shocked face.)

I will keep looking. (I seem to recall it was only 3,000 pounds on the rear electric stab).
