How To Run Fridge While Traveling

Hi gang,
New full timer here with a newbie question.
Is it possible to run the fridge while towing the trailer.
I have a 2021 FR Alpha Wolf.

Everything runs perfectly when plugged in, but going to be
Boondocking quite a bit this summer.

Thanks for any suggestions!
Brenda

I don't know your unit specifically but if it's like most camper refrigerators, it will run on propane while using a tiny amount of battery power. It should easily run for an extended period of time while unplugged provided your batteries are charged and your propane tanks are full.

Like the others have written, it depends on your type of frig. Ours is a 110 or propane type and has automatic or manual settings. If our trip is not very long, we pre-cool it using the 110 and then leave it off. For longer trips, we runs it on propane with no problems (our unit is at the real of the TT). For our frig, it does take a while for the propane to arrive, and the alarm will show, if there is no gas. I hope this helps.

Please post the make/model of YOUR REFRIGERATOR so we can give specific information to what YOU have.

Forest River uses many different styles of refrigerators across their many brands and the operation of them are not all the same.

To get the propane to the fridge quicker, light a burner on the stove before switching the refrigerator to propane.

Precool the day before we leave using AC power. While travelling we use LP to keep it cool.

I leave mine plugged in and full of beer all summer long to help maintain temperature and attitude while preparing for departure and arrival.

Probably costs $5-$10 bucks a month, and it's always ready to go. Gas/electric absorption fridges tend to be more temperature stable when run for long periods of time. LEVEL!

Brenda, when asking for assistance, it's always helpful to post as much information as possible, like your Alpha Wolf model number and make and model number of fridge.
There are 2-way RV fridges, 3-way fridges, residential fridges, 110v small fridges and 12v only fridgea.

Just posted this elsewhere and noticed this thread.

Have only been dry camping so far and haven't plugged into AC in the month of ownership. Relying on solar as I continue to stress limitations.
