HVAC

Today it's almost 90 here in Texas so I thought I would do a little spring prep for a long hot summer. The last time we turned our AC on, we heard a rattle from one of the vents so I pulled it off today and found that the cheap (and poorly installed) aluminum tape that is supposed to seal the vent from the duct had come loose and was flapping. It was also letting a huge amount of air to escape into the attic, not getting into the living area. Pictures attached show the vent untouched, the trim ring snapped off exposing 4 screws, 4 screws taken out, vent exposed and repaired with new aluminum tape. I repaired all 8 vents in the camper. The AC is running now and all the air it is putting out is coming into the living area, a HUGE improvement!

My rear bunk room didn't have a heat vent. After removing and sealing the leaks in the furnace, as well as pulling and re-taping all the vents, and adding a vent in the bunk room, the furnace worked better than from factory. Apparently FR factory workers are either rushed or don't know how to seal hvac runs.
