Inverter (1000 Watt Pure Sine Wave)

Need help;
2017 Cedar Creek champagne 38 el
200 Watt Solar panel, 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter, 12 volt deep cycle marine battery, and transfer switch. New to trying to figure out how run on DC. we have a residential fridge and would like to run off inverter. When disconnected off ac power no lights come on the inverter. What am I doing wrong?

Is this an OEM installed inverter? Does it have an auto transfer switch built in? You may need to turn inverter on manually. If you do not have a transfer switch how do you plan to switch how the fridge is powered. Before you spend too much time trying to resolve this, you should look at your set up. A marine deep cycle battery is a dual purpose battery and not deep cycle. You did not list battery capacity, but if we assume a generous 100AHr. battery ( 50Ahr usable) a residential fridge is likely to kill your battery overnight. There are many good websites to calculate the system requirements based on your equipment. Before you purchase any additional items, I suggest you do some calculations.
For reference for each 120VAC AHr your fridge uses it will use ten 12VDC AHrs.

A lot of inverters have an on/off switch. Sometimes on the inverter, sometimes remote. Can you confirm the inverter is powered up?

One problem is trying to run stuff on 12v, with only a single basic dual-purpose marine battery. This kind of battery is not a true deep cycle battery. In addition to your inverter issue, you need to upgrade your battery setup. The minimum would be two 6v golf cart batteries, which are true deep cycle batteries.

Yes we do have a auto transfer switch. Not sure what oem means. Yes, we have manually turned on the inverter. The green power light comes on then as soon as we turn off the generator no lights come on, nothing on the screen of the inverter. I was thinking we just need more batteries.

Sounds like a bad transfer switch. A multimeter would diagnose that pretty quick.

Power at battery, inverter running, no power to power center…. I’m not an expert but I believe only the transfer switch is between the inverter and power center.

I have a shorter version w/2 group 31 deep cycles. Same residential refrigerator. I can only go about 20 hrs w/ solar. If you run furnace really cuts it down. I run 200 watts of portable solar so I can move them to sun. After 2 years, I calculate I need to add another 200 solar to cover needs. We Carrie a small 3000 watt generator also.

2 12V deep cycle batteries wont quite cut it
probably a pair of battle born batteries they are price but you wil be happy
i would of gone with 2000 watt or minimum 1500 you could make coffie then
you will probably need to add 2 more solor panels
what charge controler are you running
if im in the sun all day im good but parshal sun not so hot but i have 1 12V deep cycle and its going down the high way this yr getting 2 6V go-cart

you can try trogon 12V but i still would go with golfcart 6V

People sure invest a lot to make a pot of coffee! For 20 bucks for a stove top percolator, you can save a couple thousand. Yeah, I know, when you have a medium sized house on wheels with a residential fridge and 2 big screen tv's, you need to spend thousands to keep all that running off-grid.

but i like to test my skills on what i can make happen like solar some times im good some times i fail lol
6V batteries are the way to go iv had much better luck you can dran them very low and they still come back with 12V you can only go 1/2 discharge

True deep cycles like golf cart batts can be discharged 80% without damaging them, as long as they are promptly recharged. Frequent deep discharges will reduce number of potential life time charge cycles though.

Fun size, green light is on while inverter is getting power from generator, look for a remote on/off switch inside your trailer to turn on the inverter for the fridge.

what are you running for a charge controler for the solar pannels

transfer switch i beleve is just a glorified switch for power comming from course
