Is warranty transferable?

I recently purchase a never used, used 2013 Forest River Sunseeker 3010DS. The fellow that sold it to me purchased it in mid Sept. 2013 so the unit is warrantied until Mid Sept. 2014.
I contacted the dealer about transferring the warranty and they tell me it is not transferable. Once a unit changes hands there is no warranty. A friend that retired from managing an RV service dept. tells me that their practice was the warranty was linked to the unit not the owner and that this situation seems odd to them.
Does anyone know if this it actually the case or if the dealer is messing with me? The previous owner tells me the service from this dealer was less than stellar right from the beginning.

That worked out well for the dealer, no follow up at all on this unit. The original owner didn't even have it out once to work out the bugs. Drove it home and parked it then got too sick to use it and had to sell.

3rd party extended warranties can be transferable but not factory warranties.

Jayco was one of the last major manufacturers that allowed it but dropped that feature, a number of years ago.

Same answer as everyone else... RV companies dropped transferable warranties.
