Should you find that you need more clearance to open tailgate on tow vehicle, it is possible to rotate head1/4 turn.
When I received this as a gift from the DW, by design i knew before install that the head would be hit by my tailgate. To fix this, I dropped the jack off at a local fabricater, they used a plasma cutter and removed mounting flange and re welded with a 1/4 turn rotation. Problem was solved. Until now!!!! Jack was recalled by LCI. faced with another fabricater charge to the above again and understand that LCI is suppling a replacement jack. And all they want in return is a picture of the original jack destroyed. I decided there is no harm in first disassembling the recalled jack. With that complete I now realize that the power assembly and all components can be removed and rotated on the heavy assembly. There are 4 holes currently in jack. No alterations are required. Only disassembly, rotation, and reassembly. Hot glue was used on connectors to keep from vibrating out in time, I repeated that processes.
Good luck, it is simple,
Recall is on most LCI smart jacks. There the ones with position memory.
Good news is no expense on my part. There replacing it completely. They are sending a new one to owners. In return all they ask is you send them a picture of the old one destroyed. ( that will keep the bad ones off the street or people from using them)
