I have searched and haven't seen an answer yet, so I apologize if this has been covered. I am wanting to install some drawers and drawer front face frames that match the existing cabinets. The drawers would pull out under the dinette benches, under the queen bed, and under the rear bottom bunk. So all the drawer fronts would be down low.
We just bought a new wolf pup, and the cabinet seems to be a faux dark walnut. Can anyone give me some tips on what they use from the factory? Is this a stained lumber? Is this vinyl wrapped? Is it actual dark walnut?
To me the grain looks too tight to be walnut.
I am open to suggestions. Even possibly painting the face frames a close color since they will all be down low and not at eye level with bright sunlight shining on them. The pics below look lighter to me than they do in real life.
Some people have used multiple shades of stains to come up with a similar color. You can order doors from factory but be prepared to pay as much for shipping as you do for the doors. For my 26rr I bought doors off eBay and used two shades of stain to get them to look like the rest. Its in the thread pimp my 26rr. For my new Puma, when I was out to Shipshewana ind. to help brother pick up his camper I went to Bontragers RV salvage and picked up doors that match my current stain. They have everything there you could build your own trailer. It’s in White Pigeon, Michigan. Only 15 min from Shipshewana.
Yup, all vinyl wrapped ;(
I see the "corner of death or serious bodily injury" is still a design feature of the kitchen cabinets. Just rounded mine off and stained it with what I had.
I have the 2019. What is the black panel left of the over the bed cabinet? Also in the roof on the right near the TV mount? I have the TV connections above the awning & light switches. You don't. Close up pics would be nice

Thanks for the feedback. The top two pictures I snagged from the internet, they aren't my camper. The bottom two I also snagged from the internet but I believe to be my camper. The TV antenna hookup is over the bed on the ceiling and they installed a tv mount on that wall. We don't have a TV for the camper so we might remove it and fill the screw holes.
YES, they are still installing the sharpest corner of cabinetry ever at eye level for all to get injured, haha. We need to put something on it to protect from one of us seriously getting hurt.
I can try matching a stain to the wood.
I never thought about looking for used ones from a wrecked camper, that is a great idea. I will do some searching while I am trying to match the stain.
There seems to be a ton of stain options through minwax. And the website shows what the stain looks like on pine and a couple other woods. I might try matching the finish of the wood on the cabinets with a stain. I didn't realize there were so many options.
I added drawers and cabinet doors. I went to the dealer and walked through all the same brand of RVs as ours on the lot and looked at all the different dimensions of cabinet doors and drawer fronts in them. When I was sure what I wanted, I got the dealer to bring in what I wanted from the factory in the same finish (5 pieces total). To save shipping cost, they got it all delivered along with a TT being delivered from Indiana. I also got some 8' lengths of 1x2 in the same order. The total cost was pretty reasonable. I didn't do it, but you could also get handles to match what you've got now from factory via the dealer.
In the end, it all looks like it was done at the factory. I'd post some photos but am at a CG and can't access photos on my PC at home and can't post my old PB photos here.
If you're doing complete new drawer boxes, I'd use Knape & Vogt RV "stay close" slides. They sure are nice!

I was wrong about the one black panel position. After looking at it again, it looks to a small panel in the cupboards above the dinette towards the rear/bunk area. My radio is there but that looks much smaller.
I removed that panel above my radio there and made it a catchall shelf using a small plastic perforated tray inside. I also went inside all the cabinets, upper and lower, removed the inside panels that were basically thrown in and screwed in place. I cut them to fit tightly, adding a couple 2x2"s for support if needed. I gained 10-20% more cabinet storage just doing that.
I installed my TV where your mount is but put it on an articulated arm so it can be adjusted to be seen from bed, dinette, or bunks. I WISH I had my TV connections there ;(
