New AFrame- External Grill Won't Light

I just got my new Aframe on Monday and I've been worming my way through the different features while hanging out in Camp Driveway, and this afternoon I got to and unpacked the external grill. After assembling all the elements, I hung it on the side and plugged the gas hose into it. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be happening.

I verified gas was going into the system via lighting the stove, but from what I could see/smell, nothing was coming out of the grill (and obviously it wouldn't light either via the electric start button or a lighter).

Is there anything else in the camper I might need to do to "turn on" the external gas line beyond the ball valve on the end? I'd like to hope I missed something real obvious rather than having to work with the dealer on a defective grill or other problem.

did you turn on the valve down by the hose connection under the camper ?

That I did not do, but I just went out and took a look and didn't see any valves of any kind under the camper. Near as I can tell the only control for the gas is the valves on the gas tanks themselves. Am I missing something obvious?

(the hose does have an on/off ball valve and that was in the on position when I was testing)

ball valve lever was inline with hose ? or like the one I pictured ?
I am assuming you know on from off lol ! but have to ask !
valve on hose was most likely up under grill when connected ?
its possible there is that much air in the line .


oh wait I had this problem once !
flip your grill over ...... and look in the fitting where the hose hooks up .
is the dirt in the hole ?
my dw bless her heart took ours off once and set it on the ground and the propane connection filled with dirt !
took me awhile to find that one !

Went back out for round two of night-time troubleshooting. No dirt in the valve (good idea, though!).

Attached is a snapshot of the hose connection with the inline ball valve.

which is In the off position .
try turning off propane tank valves and very very slowly open them and again hook up grill and try .
IN the daylight of course lol !

yes, it's in the off position now, but was on when I was testing earlier.

I'll tackle in the morning. I also need to swing by the dealership to pick up a couple things that are still owe me from the purchase, so I'll run it past them as well if things don't start working.

Thanks for the troubleshooting. Hopefully it's something silly I'm missing.

Good news. It turns out it was all me. I needed to attach the gas hose to the grill tighter than I had in order for it to seal - basically one more click. Once I did that, gas flowed and it lit right up.

Always glad with it's something silly on my end instead of something needing fixing.

I bet the snap coulper didn't snap back in
