peeling cabinet paper

We recently bought a 2022 Forest River Forester MBS 2400B with trekker cap.

We only have about 6000 miles and are already seeing the paper peeling off our bathroom cabinet doors. It is also peeling in other places and we always use the vent fan, so it's not just the bath moisture.

Amazed at how cheaply these expensive rigs are made. Why don't they just paint the interior rather than use cheap wallpaper?

My question is this - has anyone removed the paper and painted? If not, I've seen multiple options to re-glue it, but it seems like the paper always keeps coming off.

Thanks!

One of the reasons they don't paint (although it's getting better!) is because it's harder to hide the gaps between panel joints, etc.

Get used to it, I've owned rigs that were anywhere from $21,000 to well over $300,000. Lucky for me my expensive one was a 2006, back when Monaco made a top-notch product. One of my RVs was $155,000 new, and it was falling apart - literally - within 10 months (Thor). Every trip we took in that RV, something broke, sometimes multiple things.

My current Rockwood has held up quite well.

Do a search on YouTube for painting RV interiors and you'll see what I mean about how difficult it can be. We keep saying we are going to paint ours inside, but the level of effort it requires has us pushing it back to the back burner.

If you decide to reglue it, I can't recommend this adhesive enough.

Just a thin coat should solve your issue for a long time. I've used it for all sorts of regluing projects in all my RVs.

Just use some TightBond glue loaded in a syringe. Inject a bit between the paper and the cabinet. Work it out to the edge. Everything will be just fine.

Solid wood cabinets are expensive and heavy. Eliminate those two items for less costly and lighter-weight cabinets and one has RV cabinetry.

The thin glue is super thin. I had trouble with it running and would use thicker next time. Dont know if the TiteBond is any better than any other CA glue.
