Pink Stain on Floor

Hello all,

So when dewinterizing this week, we noticed a pink stain on the floor near the front door. Itís not antifreeze, we found it under our heavy rubber mat (see photo).

After doing some research, I found that itís either a bacteria leaving a stain, or moisture causing the glue to permeate through the vinyl. I think this is more probable, since (stupid me) I had two heavy rubber mats in that same spot all winter with a tool bag and a case of parts sitting on it the whole off season, with no time for the floor to breathe. No reason to think itís exterior water intrusion as the pattern on the floor is pretty obvious and thereís no other water damage.

My question is, is there any reason to think this stain will spread if caused by either that bacteria or the mat being left in place for many months? The current stain is totally covered by our welcome mat, and while annoying, I can learn and move on so long as it doesnít spread. Just curious if anyone else has experience this and what the future looks like because I have no intention of replacing the entire vinyl floor when the subfloor is intact. Thanks in advance!

Around the age of your trailer Salem / Wildwood had an issue with the adhesive bleeding through the flooring. Not sure of anything that can be done short of replacing the floor or putting your mats back over it.

Wish I had a better answer.

We have a 2017 Wildwood with a small area similar in our hallway. (Ours has stayed the same size so far).

Very good possibility it is pink mold. A heavy rubber mat would keep any moisture ( condensation caused by weather) from evaporating. There are many solutions to remove pink mold. Try a small area before doing the entire area.
