Power Converter Repair
While at different events and repair shops over the past year or so I picked up several Power Converters of different types and sizes, most are WFCO 55AMP units but a couple of Progressive Units as will. While I was down for back surgery I decided to try and repair a couple of them. Out of 14 units I was able to fix 11 of them for less than $25.00 total and that was adding an external fuse unit. Most of the time I just had to change the fuse at 5 amps, 120 volt. How I did it was to drill out the rivets holding the unit together and remove the board held by 4 screws, then remove the bad fuse and added the external fuse holder, it’s really not that hard to do and can save you some big bucks.
