Powerwinch P55000

My power winch has not been working for a couple of weeks so I have been using the back up socket with my drill and it has been working fine, until the back up has now ground down to a circle and will not spin.

I unhooked my motor and hooked it direct to the battery to see if the motor is gone and nothing happened. I am assuming if I hook it direct to the battery it should spin ?

So I am currently looking for a new motor to match the one I have. I have found some that look similar but do not have the same type of shaft on it.

I have attached some pictures of what I need.

Any help please ? Thanks in advance.

It has been my experience that they do not sell replacement motors, you may have to buy the whole winch. Perhaps a welding shop can repair/replace the rounded off nut.
Good luck and let us know how it comes out.

THank you. Do you know if that bolt that is in the end of the shaft used for the self cranking can come out ? If so I could just take it out and put in a new one. I have tried but cant get it to move. Thanks

I believe they are welded on. There have been a number of posts about them breaking off if the lift system jams or is hard to operate.

Thanks. I do see a weld at the base of the shaft close to the motor but I do not see a weld on top by the bolt used for hand cranking. It is threaded which leads me to believe it could come out but not sure. Ive yanked on it and its not moving.

Motor for Carefree lift

Not seeing any replacement for that lift motor. Carefree changed the lift a few years ago to a better design. New unit is Carefree P92001 12V Pop-Up Folding Camper Lift. Just as noisy but more reliable. And easier to set the limit switches. Sen them on Amazon for about $350 for the whole unit.

Lowest price I found at https://www.tesstools.net/Carefree_1...t_p/p92001.htm

Tess Tools

Thanks for all the info. I ended up purchasing the Carefree P92001.

I would make 1 suggestion, DO NOT purchase through Tess Tools. Horrible customer service. I purchased the item online on Aug 31st. On Sept 4th, the order on their website still said processing so I send customer service a message asking when it was planning to ship out because I have a vacation planned on Sept 14th. They said they would look into it and get back to me. 1 day later still nothing so asked once again.

After waiting another day I said I needed to know when it was arriving because I needed to cancel my trip if it was not coming before then. I mentioned Amazon was $20 more but at least told me when it would be arriving.

They responded back that my best bet would be just to go with Amazon because they couldn't tell me when I was going to receive it and they would refund me. I said I am fine if it comes in like Sept 11th or 12th to give me a day to put it in but I then received a message saying my order had been canceled and I had been refunded.

So they could not tell me when I was going to receive my item and canceled my order without even asking me or getting my permission to cancel it. When I thanked them for the great customer service their response was "You're Welcome".

Now I had to purchase another one from a different company 1 week before my trip. Hope it arrives on time.

so did you buy that new lift system and how well did you go ? that solved the problem?
