Also, the date may be stamped on the back of the detector. Sniff around your battery. Mine was off gassing and seeing off the alarm, although it did not need the assistance of the A/C,

I don’t want to minimize the danger of propane or CO but you may have another cause especially if the alarm only occurs when running your AC.

A few days ago while driving at highway speeds my alarm was sounding for about 20 minutes then stopped. Not positive as to what caused it but that has happened a few times before. No alarm during next 3 hours of driving.
Our CO alarm sounded intermittently while going down the highway. Even though I realize CO has no odor, I couldn't help but think it was caused by the unpleasant exhaust odor of a vehicle ahead of us. Once we exited the highway the alarm didn't sound again and hasn't since.

The newer detectors from the past 8-10 years have a service life of 5 years. Once that date is reached from manufacture date the alarms will continue to sound off. Mine started intermittently for a week or two, then stopped. After that, a continual beep. I suggest you remove it and check the manufacture date. If it is past five years old splurge for a new detector. It could result in money well spent if a real event happens.
