Unhappy Removing nail hoke caulk from walls

We just brought our Salem Cruiselite home and there are many areas on the wallpaper where one of the build persons filled nail holes by smearing caulk over them with their thumb. The probem is that the nail hole is 1/16" and the caulk swipe residue is about 2-3 inches! I tried doing light cleaning to get it off, but no change. What can I use? It is really bugging me as it is very visible.

I wonder if goo gone or a citrus cleaner would work? Spot test any heavy duty cleaners before getting carried away.

Our 2018 Roo has the same excess amount of hole filler. A damp rag at the time of application would have saved a lot of time for the end user.

Overcaulked nail holes

Thx for reply. I did try goo gone before my post-very lightly. No result. I may try it again and let it sit longer. I will get a citrus cleaner to see if that will help. We will have it home again next week/stored right now. Just a quick damp cloth, like you said, would have solved a big headache of a job for me and other owners. I saw so many brand new trailers like this when we were looking...ours was really good by comparison! It will still bug me unless I can get it off. If not, I see me painting over it sometime in future! Not what I really want to do! Thx for tips.
