The dinette table that came with my camper was the style that was hinged on the wall and had a swing down foot for a 3rd leg. It was wobbly, it was made of particle board and was bowed really badly, and it was very unstable. Often my dog would knock the 3rd leg loose, or one of my kids would push on the table just a little too hard and dump breakfast all over.
I bought a 4x4 section of 3/4" plywood at Lowes
I cut it to size, and rounded the corners.
I actually used a roll of ducttape as the outline for the corners.
I sanded and applied 3 coats of polyurethane.
At the advice of an amazon.com review, I filled the bases with liquid nail. Its lightweight and should keep them from flexing and cracking because they are thin aluminum.
I installed the bases with 1/2" wood screws, but the thin luan floors just flexed too easily and they weren't stable.
So, I ended up putting some pressure treated wood underneath. I had some scraps left from when I built my deck. I'd already added some reinforcing 2x4s under the floors between the frame rails, the table is a high traffic area, and when someone was sitting at the dinette and another person walked past, the floor would flex an uncomfortable amount. So, I reinforced it. So, all I did here was add some more boards between the 2x4s to screw into.
I also had to add one on the other side of the frame rail to pick up 3 screws on that side. Its just held in place by those 3 screws
Now I have a nice solid table
