When we purchased our used 2017 PT Crusader 295rst, we checked pretty much every system, which I thought included the AC. Considering we purchsed it in late fall, we never had cause to use the AC. Last month, we went on our annual McKenzie River trip with several friends. The temperatures were predicted to be the highest of the year, so I thought I had better double check our AC. Guess what? It did not work. Our trip was already planned so we loaded up our golf clubs and Opie, our cat and headed up the river. Long story a little shorter, the daytime temps reached over 100 degrees and we were staying at Holiday Farms RV Resort, which is where the largest fire started last year. Over 200 trees were lost in the resort so we had no shade. Daytime temp's inside the RV were over 120 so we ended up cutting our trip short. Once home, I checked with a mechanic I know that works on RV's. He was able help me diagnose the problem as a blocked line which we could not free up. Had to order a new unit. 15,000 Dometic Blizzard. He was willing to help me install the unit as I had no means to get it up on the roof (100 lbs.). Just before we were going to get started he injured his hand so was unable to help. I ended up sliding the unit up a ramp to the loft in my shop and then sliding it on a ramp over to the roof of the rv. By purchasing the same make/model the wiring was quite simple.. Our new unit works great.
