Replacing crank-up directional antenna

First, I have reviewed other post concerning replacing the bat wing antenna with other brands of directional antennas.

What I would like to do is replace the bat wing with an omnidirectional antenna. The main reason is that the television is in the living area, and the antenna crank and rotater is in the bed room ( and yes, I have hit my head a couple of time getting in and out of bed). I am getting tired of performing a tv scan, going to rotate the antenna, and performing a scan numerous times till I get a decent channel.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The crank ups can be frustrating but from what I've read (no first hand experience) they receive much better than the omni antennas. You might to consider that before changing.
