Salem FSX Broken bed first time out??

Hi friends, we are brand new to the forums, but have been camping and RVing for over 30yrs. We recently purchased a new 2022 Salem FSX 169RSK camper with the slide in the bedroom. The first trip out, the end of the bed came apart at the staples. Forest River has a cubicle for 4 soft storage bags at the end, and that completely collapsed. Now, we are not at all super large people, so I cannot explain the collapse as anything but poor fabrication. Since that time, knowing the warranty process, we decided to deconstruct and rebuild ourselves. We used construction adhesive and predrilled holes and wood screws, and it seems very sturdy so far. The problem as I see it, is preventing the end of the bed from breaking again, as it is only supported at the end with 3/8" plywood. There is no structure under it. I am looking for suggestions on how to extend support past the cubicle area, which stops about 8". Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

OOPS!

Hi Again, guess my eagerness to post got ahead of me. I meant to say, the plywood extends about 8" past the end of the cubicle, and there is no support at the top, just the two sides. I am thinking maybe a 2X4 or 2X2 across the top of the cubicle may help... Thanks again
