Septic Monitor?

I am trying to locate where the monitor might be that tells me if my septic is full? Maybe my model (2007) didn't come with one or do they all have them? I have looked everywhere (except where it is apparently TIA!

It would help if you told us the make and model of your rig.

Usually there's a panel with buttons that show 1/4, 1/2. 3/4, and full when you press the monitor. In many rigs they are in the door wheel well, but some have them on the wall. It's usually got light switches and battery monitor on it.

I kinda think the four lights are:
  1. Always on when button is pressed. (shows the button is detected)
  2. 1/3 full
  3. 2/3 full
  4. Full

If you crawl under the RV, you would see only three sensors on the tank.

Please put your RV information in your profile or signature. That way we don't have to keep asking for it.

Thanks. Obviously my memory is faulty and you are correct.

And of course it is not a septic tank. It is a holding tank.

And of course, if the thus far unidentified RV is a motorhome with tanks enclosed inside the basement, you’re not likely to see the tanks or the sensors if your crawl under the RV.

It's a 2007 42' Salem PT by Forest River.

Its a 2007 so maybe before the touch screens. Do you have something that look like this in your trailer to control lights, slides, water heater,......

The tanks: black, grey, fresh are the monitors. 1-4 lights when you press the button on the right.

Being an older 2007 Salem Destination Trailer it may not have holding tank monitors. If it does the indicator would be in the kitchen / main living area on the wall.

I have never used them anyway. You can easily learn how to know when the tanks are full,

The OP posted the correct model number in another post. It's a 2007 Salem 392FLFB Destination Trailer and is not self contained so it may not have holding tanks:

Normally Destination Trailers do have holding tanks. According to other sources it is self contained and not a Park Model, it does have holding tanks. Tank monitors is another question . Below has the Salem Specs. for 2007.

This looks exactly like my year/model! Thanks so much! No, there's nothing there. Either it didn't come with one or it was taken out at some point - there is no hole there to indicate something is missing though.

Our 2008 (same era) Cherokee 38P destination trailer has holding tanks. It has the ubiquitous panel with four vertically oriented LEDs, buttons to test black/gray/fresh tank and battery levels, and two switches across the bottom: water pump and DSI propane water heater.

Well, you could crawl under and look at the tanks. They are easy to spot. The sensors are also easy to spot--on the side of the tanks, at 1/3, 2/3 up from the bottom, and one near the top.

In general, the toilet is mounted directly over the top of the black (you called it septic) tank. If you press the lever that opens the flap, and look down with a flashlight, you can get the level by eye.
