Slide out Rocks Going in and Out

Camper is a 2019 Rockwood Signature Ultralight 8326. When extending and retracting our slide out it “rocks” side to side like the sides are sticking on something. It started doing this after having the same slide repaired. The floor of the slide had departed from the sidewalks of the slide. I did have it to my local service shop and they said that there is nothing that they can do as everything is adjusted fine. They said that some slides just do this due to only have one “rail” under the slide actually operating it. I am really concerned about this as I know this is not normal and my original warranty runs out in a few weeks. The local shop said they made a note in the file for the camper in case something happens later on. Does this sound “legit” to you guys. I am really at a loss since there really isn’t any other local dealers. I do have a small Independent repair shop close by.

Any ideas on a fix for this or what my options are at this point. I am thinking of contacting Forest River directly if anyone has the contact info.

My Table slide has a single rack and does the same thing.

We will just need to deal with it.

Any chance you can post a video of the issue?

Have you lubed the slide and seals?

We had a Surveyor with a sofa slide and it did the same thing. We would manually keep it straight just because it bothered me a bit.

Lubing the side seals will help to keep it from jerking,

Having the rack in the center of the slide with no side synchronizers just invites some side to side wiggling on retraction and extension.

Slide In binding

My last TT had a center rail for the dinette and it moved in and out with no binding and that slide went out probably 1 ½ feet. I say some adjustment is necessary and I would not accept that is something to live with. Call FR or take it somewhere else. It is only going to get worst in the future I believe.

I have a 2019 Rockwood Ultralight and the right side slide “walks” also. It’s always done it and has not had a problem getting all the way in or out.

If this has only occurred after a repair of the slide then it is clear that the repair center did not do the repair correctly. Not doubt about it, no question. Just another repair center that fails to perform and should be closed.

I did have it to my local service shop and they said that there is nothing that they can do as everything is adjusted fine.

This is the standard answer from an inadequate repair center.

ADJUSTED FINE? WELL THEN YOUR FINE JUST AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH. ADJUST IT TO MY FINE, WHERE IT WORKS PROPERLY!

They said that some slides just do this due to only have one “rail” under the slide actually operating it.

THIS IS HOW YOU KNOW YOU ARE DEALING WITH A HALF ASSED COMPANY. FIRST THEY STATE ALL THE ADJUSTMENTS ARE CORRECT AND NOW SOME SLIDES JUST DO THIS.

THESE ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE ANSWERS AND SOUND LIKE SOMETHING YOU WOULD TELL A 4 YEAR OLD LIKE, BECAUSE I SAID SO.

I am really concerned about this as I know this is not normal and my original warranty runs out in a few weeks. The local shop said they made a note in the file for the camper in case something happens later on.

SOMETHING IS HAPPENING NOW. YOUR SLIDE IS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. DO YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL IT WILL NOT CLOSE WHILE ON A TRIP OR WORSE. IT IS BROKEN NOW, FIX IT NOW.

Does this sound “legit” to you guys.

NO

That is your answer. Get FR involved and do not accept anything other than excellence from the repair center.

I am so tired of the lame excuses these repair centers give.

1. They are made like that.
2. That is just the way it is.
3. It is setup the best we can do.
4. MANY MANY MORE

I guess by now you know that I have gone thru this BS. Last experience I had with a service center was a leak in the slide out when traveling in the rain. All because the factory failed to put in two $2.00 pieces of foam. Took the dealer 45 days to get and install.

45 DAYS CAN YOU BELIEVE IT.

Best of luck. Happy camping.

had a couple factory techs look at the bed slide in my 8329ss at Goshen for doing the same thing. Both agreed, quite normal operation.
