Smelly camper
Hi everyone
I have a 2020 wolf pup, and have had major odor issues with it for about a year or so now.
I've had it in at our local RV dealership to try and solve the issue and obviously they didn't fix it as it still stinks. Extended warranty we purchased didn't cover anything (won't buy one of those ever again).
I have read that alot of people have been having the same issue and it sounds as if it's probably the toilet it came with. We are going to buy a new one and see if that helps. I've been reading that the 310 model works well, but is there an advantage to getting the 321 series, and would this fit?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Assuming your toilet is a dometic 300 the 310 is a direct replacement. The 320 is a bit larger and may have issues with not having room in the back. Measure first.

See my post:
I just replaced my Dometic 320 with a 321.
Dometic 300, 301, 310, 311, 320, 321 - Installation and Operation Manual AMER(en-fr-es).pdf Read "Toilet Dimensions" on page four.
I also have a Fan-Tastic Fan vent cover & leave the bathroom vent open all the time.

FWIW - My neighbour (Rockwood Mini TT) had same issue, a smelly camper. He checked his toilet stack and it was fine.......wound up being a faulty tank checkvalve.

This is second hand information from a month ago driveway discussion, but, his trailer was smelling like sewage inside, even though his tanks were clean........ and apparently there is a one-way check valve in one of the cabinets or cupboard and it was not functioning properly. Once he replaced it, problem solved.
Apologies for not being clearer or having more details.

Probably so. I changed the Air Admittance Valve under my kitchen sink a few weeks ago.

You say smelly? If it smells like urine, like a truck stop mens room then it is probably your toilet (Dometic Model 300).
If it smells more like sewer it may be your air admittance valves. They are for grey tank but if one is bad it smells like your holding tank.
You should have 2 AAV, one under the kitchen sink and 1 under the bathroom sink. They are mounted up high.

make sure all the sinks have water in the P traps
lot of times in between use... the water evaporates enough to let the bad smelly odors in.
some people say the sink in the bathroom can be connected to the black tank ... so it is possible to smell sewer from that sink if no water in the trap
Even if water in the trap.. it can become smelly over time
so rinsing it out once in a while can help too.
You can also keep a open box of baking soda to absorb air odors
I leave my a/c set on 85 to keep humidity and odors down

Had a smelly camper problem in my 2020 Microlite 21ds. Once I realized it wasn't a sewer, but rather a rotten urine smell, I was able to address the problem.
Long story short (sort of) it was urine seeping past the gasket seal and collecting into the hollow base of my Dometic 300 toilet. I cleaned and sealed the gasket with sealant which lasted less than a year before the problem started coming back.
Finally fixed it by replacing with a Domestic model 310. Haven't had a problem since.
