My smoke detector will not stop unless I pull the battery. No smoke anywhere?

How old is it? Smoke alarms only have a useful life of 10 years then replace.

Here's a silly question but here goes - have you tried putting the battery back in and moving it outside to see if it's the smoke detector that's faulty or if something inside is making it alarm? Strange for a brand new detector to suddenly go bad; strange - but not unheard of.

I did. But, now I put it back inside and it is now sporadic. I took it in the house. It'll just start screaming. It's right next to my home alarm. Oh well, time for a new detector. Thanks. I was just wondering if anyone had this problem. I've never seen a smoke detector act this way.

Did you try new battery in it?

I have had issues like yours when I got a new fiver.
The heater and oven would cause it to go off. Good Luck
