"Stone" under flooring?

We discovered what appears to be a "stone" or t-nut or similar under our vinyl flooring. Our HW PUP is on its fifth season, and we never noticed this before. It's in front of the stove...about 26" in from the side of the camper wall.

Background: Our PUP was built from the ground up. After the "plywood" decking was laid on the frame, they installed the vinyl flooring from edge-to-edge of the flooring. It's under the cabinets and in all the storage compartments. In short, I can't imagine how a foreign object could have gotten under the flooring. Moreover, I can't imagine how it sort of "just appeared".

I'd estimate this object is about 1/4" to 3/8" in diameter...quite large. The flooring is, as yet, undamaged by foot traffic, and, as I said, it's right in front of the stove, so there's lots of foot traffic on that spot.

I looked underneath and see no evidence of any kind of fastener...say a small bolt into a t-nut. A screw would have penetrated the flooring in no time.

Could this be a screw that goes down through the floor and attaches the flooring to the frame....a screw that backed out from vibration on the road?

Before I cut the vinyl flooring to explore, I thought I'd seek your input. If I must, I plan to cut the flooring, gently bend it back to remove the object or replace and tighten a loose screw, or whatever, then use adhesive to reattach the flooring to the substrate. I'm not looking forward to this attack on my flooring, but I see no other way.

I'd appreciate your thoughts...and any experiences you've had with a similar phenomenon.
