Toilet chemicals

What are the best toilet chemicals to use in a new 8281SS?

Well I don't know if there is something specific about your camper model, but they all have pretty much the same tank and toilet AFAIK.

I've been using a product called OdoBan available at Sams, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. Comes in 1 gallon jugs. After dumping/rinsing the tank ... I fill the black tank with 2-3 gallons of water and a 1/2 - 1 cup of OdoBan. I'll throw a little in the grey tank too just in case. If that get's real "funky" that can get about as bad as the black tank. So far no smells and it's a lot cheaper then "traditional" RV chemicals.

OdoBan - Odor Eliminator - Home

"Best Chemicals to use" is hotly debated on here, be ready for a wide array of suggestions.

Where do you get it at and does it cost much more than the other stuff that most people use? I have heard good stuff about this but sounded like it was hard to find.

I buy it from my local ACE hardware, I have also seen it at a few RV dealers. cost about $10 a bottle and one bottle treats many tanks.

If your retail RV Supplier doesn't stock it R.V.Digest It Concentrate can be purchased from the manufacture at: Unique MM :: All Natural & Green Cleaning Products :: Safe For Your Family & Pets They are located in Arvada CO 1-800-221-3259. The last time I ordered it if you bought 4 quarts the shipping was free. If I remember right it was a little over $40.00 for 4 quarts.
As I look at the bottle I see it says ALL NATURAL ENVIRONMENTALLY CORRECT

Grrrr!

I've been using Thetford with FORMALDEHYDE for forty-plus years.

I currently have two septic systems on my property, and both work fine, even though I, and my friends who keep their rigs here, all use the formaldehyde-based deodorant. There are eight, regularly used MoHos, Fivers, and TT's here, and they all dump into the same 1500 gallon system as my sister's Mobile Home on the back of the property.

You'll notice that I said deodorant; none of the biotic stuff used for septic systems is in your tank to properly stew. It takes days or weeks to work.

The small amount of formaldehyde is a small price to pay for "Real Freshness"! Could be a good commercial.

I have both systems tested annually, and they're both cooking!

The amount of formaldehyde in a bottle of Thetford's wouldn't faze an ant (IMHO!).

BRING IT ON!

After all these years, "Thetford=Clean"!

Sorry, but I've been using this since Moby Dick was a sardine.

And the point I was making was that it doesn't hurt septic systems.

Let's stick with that.
