Too Early to De-Winterize?

Hi guys, I'm a new toy hauler owner and am thinking of de-winterizing; just wondering if I'm jumping the gun. Highs are in 40s or 50s but overnight lows may hit 27 or so for another week or two. I'm not sure how risky it is to do now; ok to proceed or better to hold off? Thanks.

I think it's just a tad too early. When the lows are consistently no lower than 35 will ensure that you probably won't have one day of lower 20s.

If your going to get weather in the mid-20's, IMHO you're jumping the gun. You may be OK in the mid-20's if you run the furnace and tank heaters (assuming you have them). However, why take a chance on breaking pipes and causing yourself a whole lot of expense and the inconvenience of running it to a dealer for repairs.

When is your first camping trip? I am just a tad north of you in Baltimore - and I usually de-winterize second week of April (but then our first camping trip is the last week in April - so have to be ready for that) LOL.
(with a new camper - I just bet you are chomping at the bit to get out there.)

If you have to ask its to early. If your not going to use it why rush and even chance damage.

Thanks for the feedback. First trip is April 1st. I'm out of town next weekend and am trying to do what I can to prep this weekend; sounds like better to hold off on de-winterizing for now; hopefully weather is more conducive on the 31st.

I usually wait until we have lows consistently near 30. Looks like that won't be until April this year.

You live in Virginia as I do, I normally don't even winterize, just run a space heater, and my tank heaters. I have the last couple of years through, I dewinterized a week ago. No problem, but to each there own, NEVER had a problem in 8 years.

I normally just keep the camper warm with the tank heaters on but this year has been very cold and my grey water drain line froze and shattered the line. This is the first time I have winterize unfortunately after the fact. I’m taking a short trip on the 27 of this month so I’ll dewinterize then.

Pacific North West and I de-winterized last week. Watching the overnight lows and turning of a 65w bulb in basement of my 5er to keep outside shower lines warm enough if it gets cold. Fresh water tank has been sanitized and is now empty again, no other water in other tanks. Heading out on the 28th for our first trip of the season.

de-winterize!?

Wow! I am waiting for night time temps to be consistently in the 20's. (last night went to 0). I can't even think about de-winterizing until May. Maybe I need to move south. ...Or go full-timing and follow the sun (& warmth).
Right now, biding my time until the snow melts

I live in upstate NY, getting ready to De-winterize for a trip on the 30th. If I have to de-winterize early I just turn the heat on to 50 at night. Never had an issue.

I'm leaving for Florida in 3 weeks and I want to de-winterize and have a full tank of fresh water for the road but won't risk damage to my plumbing. I will de-winterize on the road if I have to.
