Trailer Keys

We all know, or most of us do that the common cargo key is number 751. My question is....how common are the door keys?

My information indicates the door key has a master and every dealer and probably half the population has one. The deadbolt key, though, seems unique or at least limited. The few times I've dropped my trailer off for service (and they needed a key) they needed the deadbolt key, not the key in the handle which they all said they had.

CH-751 key will open all the sheds in my neighborhood and the ADT security box in one of my closets. But not my camper deadbolt. Never did try the door though.

I replaced mine with cam locks ("pin ball machine locks"). Not super secure secure either but not everyone is carrying one. The 751 still unlocks my outdoor shower.

Chuck is correct. There are master keys for the door locks but harder to get them for the deadbolts as far as the G series goes. You can also rekey them with another key....assuming you are a dealer or locksmith to purchase one. Not sure how difficult that would be to scam.

That said you can order locks that have not been rekeyed. You can also order locks that do not work with the master keys...

I had 5 different keys for my TT when I got it. I wanted to reset them but locksmiths wanted $40 a key. At that price I could order all new locks latches and cam locks for the entire trailer specifying my common key number for all my locks.

Now it appears you can rekey them yourself now.

My deadbolt and door key, and the bed doors on my Roo 23SS hybrid, all use the same key. The external hatches are the CH-751 key.

If I lock the deadbolt with that key, though, the RV shops claim they don't have a key to open it so when I leave the trailer I just lock the latch. (Hope that makes sense.) I don't have a separate key that just locks the main or bed doors.

Just did some snooping and there are apparently 50 different locks/keys for my trailer and I can order a set for $20.

Key Number HF301 through HF351
CF, EF and HF keys are the same Keys

Never seen a CH751 door key. Maybe on a Popup.

I penned in a response about cam locks. Then, reading comprehension kicked in.

i also had the understanding that there are 50 different deadbolt keys, all of which open the salesman lock.
