Upper bunk

Would like to remove upper double bunk wildwood 2017 263bhxl for more head room on lower bunk. Will this ruin the structure, bracing? Anyone done this before???

I very much doubt the bunk is a structural member of the trailer.

Agreed. The upper bunks usually have a relatively low load capacity (200-300lbs?). This would indicate that the structure that holds the upper bunk mattress is tacked into the exterior walls. However, it does not actually help the trailers structural integrity.

How to raise upper bunk

I just bought a surveyor svt 187. How do I raise and secure the upper bunk?

I would like to hear more on this subject as well, dealer said just take out screws but that is apparently not true.

I did a conversion a couple of years ago on mine. I went from a single bunk to a double. It will not be hard for you to remove that top bunk. See pics in the below thread. Once you start removing the trim, you will see all the screws that need to come out for complete removal.
