Water heater

My wife and I just got our new 2018 fr grey wolf this past fall. It was winterized for the winter. We took it out last weekend for our first trip. Everything was great except no hot water. I had the propane on, the black switch on the hw was on, and I had the “htr” switch inside on. Still no hot water. Any ideas?

Bypass valves, Here you go as this link should get you fixed up. We keep this common occurrence at the top of the plumbing section.

Your description also describes a Suburban bran water heater, so this thread may also help:

If you have a Suburban water heater, the black switch on the heater (accessible via the outside panel) is for the electric heating element. If the water heater had no water in it when you turned the switch on, the element is now burned out. It only takes a few seconds to burn out with no water.

If it is burned out, there are threads in this forum on replacing the element. I've done it (burned it out and replaced it) and it's not very difficult or expensive. I did have to buy a water heater element socket. Although I had a socket that fit the hex on the element, my socket's outside diameter was too big to fit into the hole in the water heater jacket. I got the element and socket at Lowes.
