Water heater

I have suburban W/H SW6DE. Itis electric and propane. My question is Can I run electric and the gas at the same time? My old heater had the electric system diconnected. After it spang a leak I removed the tank and replace it with the same model. Ifound out why the old one had the power unhooked. It had melted the switch and the end of the element and wiring. I had a hot rod int the old one it worked with both electric and propane. Thank you for any help with this.

Look up in the top right hand corner....in the dark green border running across the top of the page.

Use key words and see what happens.
