What is this used for?

Found this in my used RV, no idea what it's for or if it's important?

Thanks,

Linda and Tom

It's a home automation remote.

[QUOTE=Kenny kustom;1051903]Automatic blinds?

No idea, a service tech, doing other service on the RV didn't know. Online it appears to have something to do with the awning? Just curious I guess, everything seems to work ok and I don't really find a mating module for it to adapt to...

It is a wireless wind sensor for an awning.
Website refers to residential awnings but maybe your application has it? I don't know. It mentions it typically mounts on an awning arm.

The link to the sensor on SIMU's website is HERE.

Well... we really didn't help much.
We now know what it is but still don't know if your rig came with something like this attached or if someone, somewhere along the way, simply left it in the rig by mistake. Being your unit is used, I'd say it was for the previous owner's home.

Since I put the RV in storage, I'll check and see if there are any places to mate that controller. Thanks again.

I found this very interesting.

Seems like there needs to be a receiver somewhere that hooks into the awning retraction circuitry. The brochure doesn't seem to show one or even discuss one, either.

So I went and looked at the actual SIMU website, and it appears that they sell awning motors with "wireless control systems."

T3,5 Hz.02 | SIMU

That would imply that there's power to the motor all the time to roll up the awning and it's just waiting for a signal from the transmitter.

But then, how do you open and close it yourself??????

So I got to here:

http://www.simu.com/uploads/document....5%20Hz.02.pdf

Shows there's also a "remote control" for the motor. (Even comes in FIVE fashionable colors!!!)

So, LTRVing, do you have a remote control for the awning, instead of just a 3-way switch like the rest of us?
