What's that switch do?
Hello from Greencastle, PA. We have a Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite Travel Trailer 8298SS that we bought new in 2008. Everything about the camper has been great, we love it, however, there is a switch and we have no idea what it's for. We remember the salesman told us what it did, but my wife and I can't remember to save our lives.
The switch is located directly below the hot water heater switch and beside the thermostat. It's not labeled, but when you turn it on, it glows red. There is nothing in the owners manual, we have tried to look it up on line with no success. If anyone could help we would appreciate it.
Thanks
Bill Phillips

I don't know the answer, but I wanted to say Welcome! If you don't get an answer here, try down in the Rockwood forum. Someone will know!

Could it be for artic packs - heat pads to keep your fresh water tank from freezing?

You're the second person to suggest that. That may be what it is, guess I could send a pic, that may make it easier to identify.

That switch is to operate your hot water tank on electric instead of using your gas. make sure your tank is full before you turn it on.

not necessarily true, most FR products have a Suburban WH, which has the electric switch on the WH itself, not inside the trailer.
all Rockwoods i've heard of, don't have a switch inside to turn the electric element on, in the WH, except for the breaker switch in the panel.

Where is your water pump switch? My heated tank switch(different trailer) does not have a red indicator lamp.

On my Sunseekr the switch turns off the water pump. There is one for the artic pack and another for the hot water heat both marked but a third which is not marked (water pump)

Haven't gone camping again yet. We are going over Labor Day, so I'll see if it's the electric water heater switch. I'll let you know.
