Winch and lifter maintenance.

Hi gang I’m looking for some advice.
I have located Zerk fitting on the bottom of my Rockwood 1640 LTD. How many pumps of Greece should I be putting in the every six months? And does anybody know what was originally put in by the manufacturer so I do not mix grease types? Also I guess the cable from the winch should be lubricated with a similar product? Would the same grease on a rag smeared onto the cable lightly do the job?
Thank you in advance to anybody that replies with useful accurate information.

I read from someone else post that the TWO zerks, one on bottom and one on top one at each end take about 6 oz's each. Raising it up after greasing it I had A LOT of grease come out of the lift mechanism.

FWIW I actually lowered the corner tubes and detached from the central mechanism to check lubrication. I was having a lot of bumping/bouncing raising the roof. Low and behold one of the two front springs was DRY. I hand lubed them all, up to the end lightly making sure there was not a huge amount of excess and the bumping is now gone.

I now have a much better understanding of how the system works. Only detach the tubes with the roof fully lowered and 0 tension on the cable.
