2017 34qs towing

I would like to tow with my 34qs but I see it only has a 5k hitch on it. How would I go about getting a 10k hitch? I feel like the RV can handle it. Any one ever tow this much before with the 34qs?

I want to tow a car trailer and my fathers 2020 sienna that is equipped with handicap ramps. It is not compatible with a dolly.

How much does the car trailer weigh? Your fathers Sienna is between 4600 - 4700 lbs without handicap ramps. The 2017 34QS only has the 340HP motor and it's towing rating is 5K so your right on the limits already. I would be cautious...

Your transmission is rated for 33,000 lbs max. Weigh your unit with everything loaded that you take camping. Deduct the weight from 33000 and thats what you have for towing. The hitch can handle up to 10,000 but its derated so that someone doesn't overload the transmission.

Some manufacturers falsely advertise 10,000 lbs hitch and make the consumer figure the math.

The hitch itself (steel) is rated for 10,000# As mentioned above the Allison 2500 is the limiting factor. That said, I may or may not have gone a few pounds over on occasion. Did not affect handling (of course). I also keep the transmission temp up on the LBCU. Never seen anything over 196ºF which is well below the limit. Even so, I change the transmission fluid and external control filter fairly regularly.
