390BH Porch light and grab handle problems
I have an odd situation that has me scratching my head. Both my porch light and lighted grab handle have stopped working. Have pulled the bulb from the porch light and have found the filament to be intact. Although I have not yet taken it apart, I believe that the grab handle contains and LED light (not likely to have burned out yet).
Are to two somehow linked ... are they on the same fuse .... if so where is it located?
Tim

Didn't know the grab handle had a light. It's never worked on my 2013 390RB. Maybe mine is not supposed to light.

You may have two independent problems. I just replaced my porch light bulb and the old ones filiment looked fine as well. If you want to try, swap out a bulb from one of your bottom compartments.
As for the grab handle light, just so that we are all on the same page, it is controlled by the "aisle light" switch, not the "porch" switch. By turning on your aisle lights, that turns on the grab handle outside. So if your aisle lights are coming on inside the coach but the grab handle isn't then it would be an issue with the LED in the handle.

How do you get to the grab handle bulb? Would I have to unscrew the handle itself from the coach?

I picked up my 2014 390BH a month ago and my exterior grab handle has never lit up with any of the switches at all. Does the ext handle actually have a light in it??? If so how do you replace the bulb???
Thanks
Jason

Not sure how to replace the bulb in there guys, never really looked at it. As for the newer coaches where the grab handle doesn't light up....maybe they aren't the same as my 2008. My '08's handle lights up (when you turn on the "aisle" lights but maybe they made a change where they don't now. Others with newer coaches will have to chime in here. Hard to believe they would take that feature away!

Emailed Randy and he seems to think my coach should have a light in the handle. Based on his advice I removed the handle and found there to be wiring but no bulb. Put a multimeter on the wires and it reads 13V when the aisle is turned on. Asked Randy to send me a bulb but haven't heard back yet.

Very interesting. My 2014 has never lit up outside on the grab handle. I checked the brochure (2013 because the 2014 brochure still isn't out) and it simply says 'exterior grab handle'. I would assume it would say 'illuminated' if it were. Maybe i'll take the screws out as well and see what's behind there. I wouldn't be surprised if they removed it, simply because they removed the map lights as well. My 2014 has no map lights.

That's interesting, my 2013 390BH door handle does not light up either. My son asked me about it and I said it was probably another way to cut corners and save money on the manufacturing process. I'll have to look and see if there is indeed wiring in there for the light.

I took out the screws and low-and-behold, the wiring is there. Why would they take the time to run the wiring but not finish the job? Here is a pic of the wiring. Not sure how to connect a lightbulb to this. What do i need?

Well Andy Thompson at Forest River says 2012 was the last year for the lighted handle. The 2013's are wired but have a non-lighted handle. He will sell me a lighted version for $45. I think I may just purchase a bulb and see if a can retrofit the handle. If unsuccessful I'll probably then go ahead and purchase a lighted handle and will have a backup bulb.

You all got me thinking, so last night turned on aisle lights and took a look, my 2008 lights up, but you can tell we don't use the aisle lights very often.

If I were to change the handle I would talk to Trimark and get a lighted handle with keyless entry. Not sure how much but I am looking into it.
