Adding a front TV
Nice install, looks good.
Y'all see that little white clip attached to those wires in the first picture? That's the rascal that turns off the TV when the ignition is on. Just saying.......

So, the 120 volt outlet next to that white plug loses power because of the white plug? Or does the factory installed TV have a place to plug that white plug into?

Thanks!
I tested the plug before I installed everything and it was hot with engine running. So... If you plug straight into the outlet you should be good.
Also, I added a IR transmitter to the bottom of the TV. That way passengers can use the headphones from the bunk beds to watch TV while I listen to the radio.

Yes the plug is hot with ignition on, that white piece is connected somehow to the ignition and shuts off power to the TV when the ignition is on.

Thanks, the '27 is a lot of fun when it's warmer.

From the factory there is a module that is plugged into the AC plug, the white clip is then plugged into module side and tv plugged into front. This is what is disconnected when key turned on.

That module is like a relay. When the 12 volt side is energized by turning ignition on, it opens (or breaks) the 110 volt side, so power it interrupted to the TV

Just saw this CC -- so, what Sat System do you have? I was thinking the same thing, then I realized that the XLT has the Winegard Travlr--which is NOT a in-motion Sat system!

Bama, I have the Winegard Mission InMotion Sat. True about the Travlr, but the Travlr has HD for DireTV which is better. The Mission only displays SD with DireTV. It does have HD for Dish though.

Hmmm Food for thought CC. I was thinking I could chuck my Sirius if I got a InMotion and just listen to the music channels.
Anyone want to chime in with a compare/contrast DirecTV vs Dish?

I've read that Dish has a pay as you go system for RVers. Not sure how it works though.
