AGS will not turn off automatically, manual shut off only

I can not seem to program my AGS to turn off automatically. It acted up a while back and would not turn off with the dash switch either. At that time I had to use the switch on the generator itself. I then ordered a new dash switch from Berkshire/Forest River. Since then I've been able to turn off the generator with the dash switch.

The AGS is set to run for 2.0 hrs, and start at 12.0 hrs. Any hints to what else I need to do will be appreciated. Thanks Ernie

I may be wrong, but I suspect he means the genny should turn on at 12 volts and run for 2 hours.

You guys have found my typo error, Yes, start at 12 volts and run for 2 hours, then turn off by itself.
And believe it or not I viewed what I typed before I submitted it. I didn't do too good did I?

We have pretty much the same rig, so I am guessing you have the Magnum Energy remote. Nothing is said anywhere in the docs about the gen not shutting down after autostarting...you knew that...then I checked about a conflict with other start conditions such as start on temp. The manuals say all conditions are ignored except the condition that caused the autostart. You might want to do the below check.

7.2.1.2 Starting the Generator from the Remote
To confirm that the generator will turn on and run from the remote:
1. Press the AGS button, the bottom line of the remote should display the
01 AGS Control menu.
2. Press the SELECT knob and rotate it to AGS = Test.
3. Press the SELECT knob to activate the generator test.
Once the generator starts, it should run for approximately 30-60 seconds
before automatically turning off. View the AGS module’s STATUS LED and
ensure it turns solid green (solid green STATUS LED means the generator
has started successfully and is providing the gen run sense signal to the AGS
module).

caflorin: Thanks for your input. What you sent me is the same as I have in my manual. But I had not tried those steps. Well, after following those steps, the Generator starts and runs and runs, doesn't shut off automatically. So I'm still scratching my head. I really do appreciate your trying to help.
I can see with no more input than I'm receiving this isn't a well know situation with an easy remedy. I'm getting ready to send email to Magnum, their contact info is on page 1.

Erniet: I had a difficult invertor problem. I called them (Magnum) an they were very responsive. They gave me some checks that weren't in the manual, and were able to tell me the likely cause. I ended up having to replace the invertor/charger, but I was able to keep it working for a few years. I am hoping they can let you know whether the brains are in the remote or in the invertor. They are on Pacific Time.
