Air conditioner fan blade noise

On my 2010 I have a squirrel cage fan that rubs on the fan housing. The result is a very loud annoying noise. I have been on the roof and tried to adjust the fan blades with some success but it always seems to come back. If it is not an easy and cheap fix, I'm thinking of the 15k btu upgrade. Has anyone else had this issue?

Remove the set screw on the fan, drill a small depression in the fan shaft and re-install the set screw with locktite.

I'm guessing the set screw is on the shaft and the new hole drilled would be to adjust the positioning of the set screw(either left or right). I'll try to get on the roof in the next couple of weeks to try it out.
Thanks
Will
