Air in bedroom

Does anyone else's air conditioner in their bedroom sound like a 747?! Is there anything that can help?

Lower the fan speed and make sure the vent on the main unit is closed

yep ours rattles the shelf in the restroom sometimes but i think it is because it freezes up and the ice throws the fan out of balance and then a crash is heard and it snows on the bed and everyone jumps gonna try to inspect the security of the unit to the roof so still a work on progress...

Both my units are very noisy on my 2010 Berkshire. I've tried the fan on low and the main vent closed but it does not help much. I've had them both checked by Dometic and FR and they say they are working normally. My previous MH had Coleman units and they were much quieter. Mine are so loud I'm considering having them changed but have not done any research on this yet. Good luck and I'll be interested to know if any ideas come along.

I think A/C units in general are noisy. Those compressors make lots of noise.

I have a 2014 and they are noisy also. I ordered my coach with dual 15K heat pumps and like others stated the compressor is loud and sounds like a motor running. When we go to sleep I turn the fan on med so it runs constantly and it helps with the sound of it turning on and off and waking us up. The only other option is to turn it off at night and let the main AC cool the whole coach. If you lower the temp on Zone one, it will keep your bedroom cool at
Night and you won't hear it at all.

I have a 2013 BH390 and had the same issue with the bedroom A/C unit. Found out that it was a common problem and in fact an update kit was available at no charge. Had the dealer order / install and the difference was amazing. I believe the kit only contained a few rubber cushions to help isolate any vibrations.

Supposedly there is a date range on the A/C's that let you know if it had the updated rubber bushings. All of the 2014's already had the newer
A/C's with the upgrade. Mine are still loud though even with the upgrade...

Well the good news is that today I had my front Dometic A/C changed at my dealer Boat N RV in Ridgeland SC. After having Dometic examine my front A/C in Goshen because of noisy compressor they provided my dealer with a replacement unit at no expense to me. I cannot believe how quiet the new one is. I went from a 747 to a Cessna. I am very pleased with the result.

Marty,
Happy to hear that the A/C swap went well and that you are happy with the result.

Marty, had similar done on .mine. Dometic looked at it at Goshen. My bedroom unit vibrated the walls so much we couldn't sleep. It was changed out for a newer unit at the factory and we are very happy with it.

Mine are both loud. Not vibration loud. Whisper Quiet...now there's a name for the books.

I can hang beef though when it's 100 degrees out. I can't hear the wife when they are cranked up...both good and bad.

Mine is fairly loud also, but my DW snores really loud so the noise drowns out the snoring so I can sleep better.

That may be the other way around according to DW......lol

X2 on that. In addition, we have placed a small quite fan at mid-ship to blow the cool air from the front to the rear. It works great. Make sure the the front AC's vent is open to get maximum performance. Many like the soothing sound of a fan for sleeping and it covers many outside sounds.
