I usually Avg about 10.5 with a 4200# toad (cadillac SRX). And that's going about 70 mph. I've gotten better at times and worse at times but usually 10.5. I run the generator 90% of the time to keep the coach cool.

On our unit the supports for the awning protrude about 2-3". Will this affect the efficiency? Should they be put ahead of the support arm?

I think that the airflow off the trailing edge of your vehicle is what these things affect... if they are installed before the support I would think the air flow effect would be diminished.

I don't think so. They are rather stiff, as in they don't bend, so flat smooth surfaces are the correct place to put them. They only have a thin coating of self-adhesive. I have them on my SUV and they have stuck for over 5 years and are not coming off anytime soon. I am not an expert but I think on both sides of a MH or TT would work better then none at all and just forego the top.

I put them on the roof just before the roof material starts.

RSDATA,
I was wondering about putting them before or after the rear awning support arm. So would your answer still be the same? There isn't much room between the arm and the back edge of the trailer.

Running the genset to have the roof a/c on doesn't change the mpg our coaches get. The readout display on your dash reflects only the mpg the main engine is getting. While the genset pulls fuel from the same tank and effectively shortens your ultimate range it isn't a load on the main engine that effects it's mpg. Running the dash a/c would have an effect as it's compressor is powered off the engine but not the roof a/c. You wouldn't want to just use the display number to calculate your range based on the total tank volume if you are running your genset as it wouldn't be accurate.

How many tabs did it take for your rig... I'm interested in them for mine and knowing that number would be helpful....

Also, what color are the tabs? It looks like they are the same color as your coach. Did you have them painted?
Thanks
