AquaHot

We have a 2022 Berkshire XL 37A. We’ve been on the road since May 31st visiting Flagstaff and Sedona. We’re now at the Grand Canyon. We’ve been using our AquaHot water heater on electric element. Everything has been great until last night. No hot water. I tried switching to the diesel element and nothing. Checked GFI’s and circuit breakers, all ok there. Checked antifreeze level, ok there. Switched AquaHot circuit breaker off and back on hoping to sorta reboot, no luck. Hoping someone has had this issue and knows how to resolve. Please help us get our hot showers back!

On our 2020 45A, there is a panel above the aquahot unit in the basement. The LEDs on that panel may tell you what's going on. There is also a reset button on the panel that requires a bent paperclip (or something simliar) to press. Give that reset button a shot and see if things return to normal.

We experienced a brown out on shore power once and the low voltage kicked the aquahot off and required hitting that reset button to get it running again.

Thank you for your reply. I removed the cover panel and searched and cannot find the reset button. Sounds like it’s tiny. Any way you can describe where it is? Also, I do not see any kind of display panel with lights or info. Please see photo.
Thanks again.

Well, unfortunately, we have a different model Aqua-Hot - ours is the 400D and I shouldn't have assumed you'd have the same one. The 250D, as I understand it, doesn't have an external panel like the 400D. There is a relay control board (green circuit board with three fuses on it) inside the cover that has six LEDs on the bottom of it. Each of those indicates the status of one of the functions - that might give you an idea of what's going on with it.

The information on each of those LED's can be found on page 9 of the service manual - here is the link to it on AquaHot's site:

https://www.aquahot.com/files/servic...e%20Manual.pdf

If you aren't comfortable taking the cover off and messing around inside there, you can get a list of authorized service centers from their website and give them a call.

Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck!

On the Precision Circuits Multiplex under the bed there is a fuse for the Aquahot it is fuse H14. I have attached a print with the fuse highlighted.

I have a 2022 Berkshire XL 40-D and the same thing happed to me on our first trip in March 2022. If do a search under "Aqua Hot 250D" you will see my post. It was the main control thermostat. Found the solution under You Tube. You can use a 10 amp auto fuse to bypass the thermostat and press the safety switch. I an neither mechanically inclined nor tech savvy. But it worked and I called a service tech to replace it. That was very frustrating to have to use a bath house on my first night in the new MH.

We’ll, I don’t know quite what to make of it but here’s what happened. I posted the problem with the AquaHot and everything I tried. Then I got responses from you guys, much appreciated. Lincman directed me to the fuse box location and which fuse to check. Turns out I had two burnt fuses, fh13 and 14. I replaced them both but nothing happened. Heater wouldn’t fire up and so no hot water. I googled, YouTube’d, checked manuals, called friends and couldn’t get it going. So we decided to go with the flow, resolved ourselves to cold showers and stop losing camping time. We went off to the Grand Canyon, got back after about 3 hours. Just on a whim the wife decided to turn on the diesel element and, voila, it fired up!!! Everything is back to working normal. Only thing I can make of it is after replacing the fuses, it took its sweet time rebooting/resetting.
Thanks for the responses!

Ralph I'm curious if you have experienced further problems with your Aqua Hot. Also do you have a model 250D with a model number ending in D01 or D02?

Hey RD,
Ours worked intermittently then stopped working altogether. Took it to the shop and they did replace the thermostat but they also found two wires that were touching and shorting out. They separated the wires and secured them from each other. That seems to have done the trick. We are on day 10 of a 21 day RV trip and the AquaHot has been performing great, knock on wood and Thanks for your response and safe travels!
