Thank you tkdavis for posting that link. I never could get the safecar.gov to finish loading. We have the Atwood too. I printed the info so Rick can look and see if ours falls into the recall category.

It was a warranty issue and they decided to replace it with the Atwood.

FR told me a few months ago they will not put a Girard anything back in a MH of course that was before the recall but I'm betting they replaced or repaired more gen 1 and 2's than the this recall quantity covered.

I have a gen II in my Berk. Adjusting the WH is easy and needs to be changed at about every 10°-15° change in ambient temperature. The adjusting knob in the Berk is located in our medicine cabinets. Turn the shower on full hot and let it run until hot water comes out of the shower head. Adjust the knob to the temperature that you want. What you are doing is adjusting the flame height in the heater itself.

Good luck.

Charleston same way , an that's what we do, but it is diffidently a fine tune, can you imagine dry camping, takes soo much water

We dry camp quite a bit at NASCAR races and the trick is to run the bathroom sink until water is hot, then turn the shower on. It gets hot quicker using the sink than the shower so that is why I do this. I'm sure I'm probably using the same amount of water but I feel better because I'm not sitting there for 30 seconds watching cold water run out of the shower head being wasted....

We pretty much do same, I even went as far as removing the water restrictor from shower head, now factory telling me to remove heater by pass an it will work like a charm, there words. Install says not to use a bypass, I use a 55psi adapter on water line .
Thanks

We have a 2016 - it has an Atwood in it (which we are happy with). Pretty sure this applies to us but have not yet gotten anything from FR.

Thanks for the details BamaBob - I just sent that link to my dealer. Our Berk is there getting it's pre-inspection items taken care of now so it's good timing.

As far as I know, there is no by pass on tankless water heaters. Only water heaters with tanks have a bypass.

That's what I thought too, I know there is the valve on the backside that I turn to drain all the water when winterizing, but I've never seen a bypass. I'm definitely going to take the flow restrictor from the shower head. I've been very happy with the heater, and have never had any issues but more flow is always nice.
